Henry Ford is commonly known as the man who founded the Ford Motor Company. He is also known for developing the manufacturing method

now known as the assembly line. And, to many at the turn of the 20th century, he was the man that brought the first automobile to the market that was

affordable for the middle class.

When Henry Ford says, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, either way, you’re right”, he is showing that he believes that a

person’s attitude toward success is what ultimately decides if they can do it. He is stating that simply believing or not believing in yourself can make all

the difference in the outcome of your’ undertaking, whatever it may be.

Henry Ford’s success did not come with his first attempt, or even many of them following after. He had to try many times to build a quality car

that would be accepted by the organization that would approve his automobile. He believed he could make it happen and kept pushing until finally he

succeeded and built one of the longest lasting automobile companies in America. If he didn’t think he could do it, he probably wouldn’t have kept trying.

I’ve seen the results of my high school football team and many others thinking we couldn’t be a good team, and as a result we were right. All the

local papers and parents would say we weren’t going to have a good team my senior year and many of my teammates began to believe it, and a few even

quit because of it. This brought the morale down and took the heart out of the team. We lost most of our games that year, and it wasn’t because we didn’t

have the ability to win. We were just told we couldn’t, and unfortunately we believed it.

Henry Ford’s quote is very powerful, in that, it is very simple yet very true. Everyone’s ability is limited or unlimited based on how much
they believe in themselves.
